Tennis Club invests in HeartSafe® grab hook package

Lansdown Tennis Squash and Croquet Club, Bath invested in a HeartSafe® grab hook package in 2013. Their choice of the defibrillator was a HeartSine samaritan® PAD 500P. HeartSafe® demonstrated the advanced ICG technology providing the user with accurate feedback on the CPR being given. Voice prompts instructed, “push harder, faster, slower”. This was to prove a huge benefit when the 56-year old man went into a cardiac arrest during a workout. The defibrillator gave 3 shocks and good quality CPR was provided by those assisting and full recovery took place in a hospital.
As part of HeartSine’s Forward Hearts Campaign, a free defibrillator was donated to the Club who then gave it to the gentleman who survived the SCA for him to place in a locality of his choice. Whether it is football, rugby, cricket, tennis, bowls, swimming, a story can be told about every sport where a person has unnecessarily died of cardiac arrest as a defibrillator was not close to hand. Let's us now make changes to avoid further lives being lost. Install a HeartSafe® cabinet and AED as part of this year's training plan.
When reading this page, a person will come to mind who you would have heard of or known that would have had a cardiac arrest and sadly died. Regrettably, there are more stories told of people who have died than survived. Help reverse this trend - deploy a defibrillator.
