The well supported local amateur football club in Wellington invested in a defibrillator in 2018. They had previously loaned a defibrillator but decided to invest in a more advanced AED which could be used by people with little or no training. They chose the HeartSine 500P. The committee decided rather than have the defibrillator for Club use only it should be shared with the community and located the cabinet in the car park adjacent to the Club for the nearby residents to use as well as all those involved in playing the sport, visitors and the local skittles club. Soon after the cabinet was installed, training was provided by HeartSafe® AED Locator. A new HeartSafe® defibrillator is installed at Wellington Football Club.

This life-saving piece of equipment has been provided by Wellington & District Sports Federation with funding from Mike Bull, Paul Kitto, Taunton Deane Borough Council, Wellington Town Council and Wellington AFC.
