The town of Keynsham is located between Bath and Bristol. To many people who have memories of Radio Luxembourg, it became a household name due to the infamous Horace Bachelor who was one of the first English gambling advertisers. On the radio, he spelt the word “Keynsham” every day in his radio session. At the heart of Keynsham lies the recently built Civic Centre. The local Rotary Club along with other residents fundraised and installed a HeartSafe® cabinet in the busy High Street close to all shopping facilities as well as the Council premises. Following this, other defibrillators were installed including at the Royal British Legion.

They were able to provide good CPR whilst the Emergency Services were en-route to the incident and by even more good fortune, a nearby AED was available and used on the patient which enabled the heart to restart in normal rhythm.
