HeartSafe® and Bumblebee Plumbing & Heating Working Together To Make Warrington And Surrounding Areas Heartsafe®!
Many years ago, a local GP referred to the Chew Valley area of North Somerset (about 9 miles south of Bristol) as “Death Valley”. This was overheard by Clive Setter, who lived and worked in the Valley who subsequently spoke to his sister, Trudie Lobban, who is the CEO of the Arrhythmia Alliance Charity.
A cunning plan was devised to commence a pilot scheme linked with the Great Western Ambulance Service (now South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust) to place Public Access Defibrillators in secure, weatherproof heated cabinets throughout the Valley. Some 16 Villages were targeted. Local communities were appraised of the initiative and supported it. CPR training sessions commenced.
The “Death Valley” became the “Safe Valley” and HeartSafe® was born with each Village becoming HeartSafe® and having a greater opportunity of using a defibrillator in the following few vital minutes after a cardiac arrest was suspected whilst the Emergency Services made their way to the incident.
Within the years since HeartSafe® was born, we have been consistently looking to partner up with great businesses across the UK and slowly make the whole of the United Kingdom’ HeartSafe®’.
With that in mind, Bumblebee Plumbing & Heating, based in Warrington, are proud to support the local community following the shocking scenes involving Christian Eriksen at the 2020 Euros; they have now launched their #BEEaHero campaign.
From September to December is notoriously Bumblebee Plumbing & Heating’s busiest period for boiler installations. So… with this in mind: they will be donating £50 per boiler installed towards our #BEEaHero fund.
Each time we reach our goal of £1380, we will be donating a defibrillator to a worthy cause of the customer’s choosing. This might be your local amateur football team, dance group, amateur theatre group etc.
If you are based in Warrington or surrounding areas, and you are looking for a defibrillator, then email [email protected] to be considered.
