By registering, the Bleed Kit’s location and availability will be included on Police and Ambulance CAD systems, allowing Emergency Service operators to direct members of the public to the bleed kit in an emergency. Registration will also add your Bleed Kit to the UK Bleed Kit Partnership/HeartSafe Map, allowing communities across the UK to become familiar where their closest NHS-approved bleed kit is located.

Please accurately ensure the Community Bleed Kit Pouch number is used when registering. You cannot register your Community Bleed Kit Pouch on its own. It can only be registered when installed in the authorised HeartSafe housing , the ‘Limpet’ or ‘Standalone’ metal unlocked wall / Lamp post dispenser with QR code displayed.

When registering, please use only the correct expiry dates supplied on the delivery note for the Trauma Dressing and Haemostatic dressing or otherwise agreed.

The Bleed Kit mapping system, which includes real-time plotting of bleed kit sites, is offered on the UK Bleed Kit Partnership/HeartSafe Bleed Kit Map page. It is designed for use only with the UK Bleed Kit Partnership/HeartSafe ‘Limpet’ & the ‘Standalone’ dispensers supplied with the UK Bleed Kit Partnership Bleed Control Pouch. The pouch is NHS-approved BS8599-1, British Standard MHRA-approved and UK Conformity Assessed medical kits designed for untrained bystanders, and trusted by Emergency Services.
The Avon & Somerset Police and NHS Southwest Ambulance Service Trust regions of South West England have approved and endorsed The HeartSafe Mapping Tool.
Through collaboration with SWAST they have adapted the body mapping card contained within all bleed kits which has now been endorsed by medical professionals as best practice.
Should you purchase or be given a HeartSafe Community Bleed Control Kit Pouch separately (not including either the Bleed Kit ‘Limpet’ MK1 dispenser or the Bleed Kit ‘Standalone’ MK2 dispenser), you cannot register the medical kit/pouch on the website if it is housed in any other housing than those authorised by HeartSafe or as a single item.

We are unable to guarantee that a bleed control kit will always be available in an emergency. Once we are advised that a kit has been deployed or removed, every effort is made to replace the Bleed Kit for future deployment. We continually aim to maintain the UK Bleed Kit Map with accurate and up-to-date information that is supplied by the Registered Owner / Guardian.
