Welcome To OurBleed Control Kit Training Videos

A set of educational videos has been produced to inform the public on the effective use of the HeartSafe Bleed Control Kit to manage blood loss before the arrival of ambulance services…

This initiative, pioneered through the Community Bleed Kit Partnership, has established a National Standard for emergency trauma response by placing life-saving tools in public spaces.

Originally established by Avon & Somerset Police, HeartSafe and South West Ambulance Service Trust, the model is now being replicated across the UK to provide 24/7 access to NHS-approved medical bleed control kits. The Community Bleed Control Kits are BS8559-1Compliant Critical Injury Pack.

Join us and become part of the Partnership:

● Proven Efficacy: The kits have already been credited with saving 11 confirmed lives through rapid bystander intervention before Emergency Services arrive.

● Accessibility: Bleed Control Kits are housed in approved unlocked dispensers and lamp post-mounted units, ensuring zero delays to deploy to help patients suffering from catastrophic blood loss

● Designed for Bystanders: Despite their professional grade, the Bleed Control kits are specifically endorsed for use by untrained members of the public.

● Strategic Growth: By utilising volunteer installations and affordable hardware, the program has scaled from a local success to a proactive National public health movement.

For those looking to support or implement this model, you can find more information and purchase Bleed Control Kits through the HeartSafe interactive UK-wide Bleed Kit Map and Website.

SWAST Collaboration

South West Ambulance Service Trust joins The Partnership to improve Emergency Response

South West Ambulance Service Trust(SWAST) have become a key partner in the bleed control kit initiative, offering vital support and advice. South West Ambulance Service Trust has endorsed the kits for being straightforward in an emergency and the only appropriate solution of their kind.

Through collaboration with South West Ambulance Service Trust, we have adapted the body mapping card contained within all bleed kits, which has now been endorsed by medical professionals as best practice.

NHS ambulance crews and trauma teams do a great job when confronted with a patient who’s losing a lot of blood, but we wanted to go further in those crucial minutes when an ambulance was still on its way...
