Earlier this month we celebrated the launch of a heartfelt partnership with Mikey’s World, honouring the memory of 16-year-old Mikey Roynon, who tragically lost his life to knife violence last June.
Mikey’s World, founded by his brave mum Hayley, joined the Avon and Somerset Bleed Kit Partnership to fund emergency bleed kits in Bristol. The first of these was installed outside The Cossham Inn in Kingswood, where Mikey’s family live.
Thanks to this partnership, 20 bleed kits have already been funded and will soon be available in local communities, offering crucial first aid in emergencies. These kits can be used by anyone, even those without medical training, in the critical moments before emergency services arrive.
Since the initiative began last year, we’ve agreed almost 400 bleed kit sites across Avon and Somerset, with a goal to reach 500 by the end of 2024. This mission is only possible with the support of local partners and communities.
