Gillamoor and Fadmoor in North Yorkshire become HeartSafe®

The villages of Gillamoor and Fadmoor in North Yorkshire have become HeartSafe®.  AED Locator was chosen by Jane Lush of the Gillamoor Parish Improvement Project after researching the best way of safeguarding their isolated villages on the southern slopes of the Yorkshire Moors.  Clive Setter of AED Locator attended the launch of the equipment at the Village Fun Day and gave awareness training sessions to members of the village.

The life-saving equipment is located outside the Gillamoor Primary School (post code YO62 7HX) and the Fadmoor Village Hall (post code YO62 7HA).  Both defibrillators are available for use by the general public following a 999 call to the Emergency Services. The equipment was purchased from funds raised at a number of events organised by the two village communities.  One of the defibrillators was kindly donated by Arrhythmia Alliance.

All HeartSafe® cabinets are supplied with green "dusk to dawn" overhead lights in order that their location can easily be identified in an emergency.  Pictured at the top of the article is the Fadmoor Village PAD - the green light can easily be seen a mile away when approaching at night.
