A Public Access Defibrillator has been installed at John Mason School in Abingdon.

John Mason School is located on Wootton Road in Abingdon.  The postcode for Sat Nav users is OX14 1JB

This life-saving equipment is one of two PADs fundraised for by local couple Liz and Lewis Purbrick.

In May 2014, Liz's twin sister, Vicky Gottwald who at the time was a Welsh international basketball player, collapsed during a game and suffered a cardiac arrest.

Luckily the leisure centre where Vicky was playing had a defibrillator that saved her life.

Liz along with her husband Lewis decided that their local towns Abingdon and Wantage needed life-saving defibrillators on hand and they have raised money by shooting 2,000 basketball hoops within 6 hours. What a fantastic achievement.
